Star-Flinging Spirit

Today’s Reflection

STAR-FLINGING SPIRIT,
you stop, stoop, kneel, and embrace
everyone and everything in need of your love and care.
May I join you today in caring for your creation,
embracing my role within the family of life.

Thank you for your encouragement and prayers Heidi and Buzz. In a way I am separated from some activities at church but I do what I can.

Its quite upsetting to have a congregation not accept a pastor because she is a woman. God can call anyone to the ministry.

Lord help those who feel isolated, alienated, separated and guide us that we do Your will in making them feel connected and loved.

Look at the verbs in this prayer: flinging, stop, stoop, kneel, embrace.

How might my life mimic these actions?

Flinging seeds of hope, stopping and stooping to tend and nurture; kneeling to invite the Spirit into this place; embracing first the love of Christ, then one another, in hope, in comfort– in peace.

We have a winner here ;)

Holy Spirit,
Thank you for inviting me to walk beside You this morning while it was my turn to give You voice on the prayer line. Thank You for giving me the ears to hear, the heart to understand, the mmind to get out of Your way, and the mouth to share Your most sacred love.
In Jesus name. Amen.

A PRAYER FOR THOSE WHO ARE ALIENATED

Almighty Lord God:
Hear my prayers for those of us who are alienated.
Lift up our eyes to You.
Let us see no more muck and filth in our lives.
Let us smell no more rot and stench in our lives.
Let us hear no more schrill screaming in our lives.
Create us clean and sanctified for You.
Create us cleansed for relationship with others in our lives.
And, let us glorify Your most Holy name.
In the name of Jesus,
Amen.
