Daily Messages from God

Today’s Reflection

WISDOM VIEWS the rising sun and the majestic silences of nature as daily messages from God. God is patient; God waits for us to get it right — or continues to work with us, despite our every error and lapse of conscience, in the sinews of every prayer and doctrinal attempt, every compassionate act, every encounter with stone and wind, every effort to read scripture and remember the Creator.

Today’s Question

Think of the last time you saw the sun rise or set. Give a prayer of thanks for its wonder. Share your thoughts.

Today’s Scripture Reading

Then Peter came and said to him, “Lord, if another member of the church sins against me, how often should I forgive? As many as seven times?”
Matthew 18:21, NRSV

I recently saw the most beautiful sunrise. The pale pink hue was breathtaking and more spread out than I had ever seen. God is so good to us. Even in the quiet stillness of the morning……if we only take a moment to look and really see the beauty around us.

Today’s Reflection is a nice reminder that even when we slip up and unfortunately sin God is always willing to forgive as long as we go to him and ask. God is always patient with us. He knows we are not perfect and he is always patient and willing to teach us. No one is perfect in this world and we all have our moments that we are not so proud of. Thank you God for giving your one and only son Jesus Christ for our sake! Thank you Jesus for loving us so much you would give up your life to save our life!

I live on the East side on the top floor of an assisted living facility. The whole Rast side of my room is a huge window, so I get the first ray of sunlight every day. That way I can get my prayer and meditation done before I go to breakfast and I am usually prepared to pray for others at any time during the day.

I went to Church yesterday, first time in quite awhile. A good Friend had had a stroke and I promised his wife that I would go to Church to Pray for his recovery. Long story short, I had one of the best days I have had in a month. The devotional message yesterday seemed as if it was written specifically to me. I have seen so many sunrises lately, mostly not by choice, mostly because I have been unable to get a full nights sleep. They are beautiful but until now, I did not give pause to any special meaning. I hope that I can maintain and continue on my current path, I do ask for Prayers for my Son, age 28, who has a chronic kidney disease. Please Pray for him to believe in our God and to believe that medical science has made and will make tremendous strides in curing and or dealing with such diseases. And Pray for me, keep me in God’s light, the pull of other choices is very strong. Thanks
