Love Beyond Imagining

November 21, 2012

Today’s Reflection

GOD OF ALL LOVE, your love for me and for the whole creation is beyond anything I can imagine. Your thoughts are not my thoughts, and your ways are not my ways. But the immensity of your love does not frighten me; it encourages me. For if I could fully fathom your love and live in it, it would be no bigger than I am. …

I give you myself today as completely as I can, knowing that the experience of your love will create an even greater openness to you in the days to come. Choose for me the best expression of your love as I live today, and I will gladly receive it, as well as seek to find ways to share it with others.

In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Today’s Scripture

Grace to you and peace from him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven spirits who are before his throne, and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and freed us from our sins by his blood, and made us to be a kingdom, priests serving his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
Revelation 1:4-6 NRSV

A wonderful prayer, love is a wonderful thing, it comes from God, who loved us before we knew love, it does so many good things, and we can share God’s love with others, what a blessing that is.

Lord even when the physical damage from recent storms is repaired there will still be emotional, spiritual repairs needed. You are better at healing those than anyone and I ask for that healing for all who need it. Encourage us all to show your love to those both near and far as they recover from the storms. In Your name I pray. Amen

In the morning when I rise…give me Jesus. Give me Yourself today, as You see fit – so that I may experience You as You desire. I praise You for the redemptive and transformative work You have done, do and will do. More of You…may that always be my single and simple plea.

Jesus,
My gratefulness for your love for me I cannot in words express. I am grateful that you have made me a disciple of your love. I so very grateful that you have made me an ambassador of you love. Cause me to walk in the way of your love all of my days.
