Today’s Scripture

And this is my prayer, that your love may overflow more and more with knowledge and full insight to help you to determine what is best, so that in the day of Christ you may be pure and blameless, having produced the harvest of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ for the glory and praise of God.

Philippians 1:9-11, NRSV

Gentle and fierce – yes. And knowing exactly the right times to take on those characteristics. Father, bless us with the ability to be gentle and fierce – fierce in our love for You, gentle with our touch. Fierce in pursuit of righteousness, fierce in our willingness to forgive. Gentle as we listen, gentle as we forgive ourselves.

I pray too the verse from Philippians 1: 9-11 for all of you who read and post here.

Dear Lord, help all of us with one of our most difficult tasks, forgiving.
May we fulfill your command that your will be done, your kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven. We celebrate waiting for the coming of your son, our lord, Jesus. He forgave as you forgive teaching us how to live. Thank you for Jesus, your word, your truth. Amen

Father,

Show us Your ways, O Lord, each us Your paths. Lead us in Your truth and teach us; for you are the God of our salvation, in You we wait all the day.

Lord, You promise that You lead the humble in what is right, and teach the humble Your way. Help us to bow low that we would become teachable and obedient. Lead us in paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake.

Truly Lord, to be unforgiving is to be sifted by the devil as wheat. But as You spoke to Peter, so You speak to us now. You are praying for us Lord, right now, that our faith would not fail us and that when (not if) we turn back to You as we seek forgiveness from others and extend forgiveness to others, we are to go and strengthen our brethren. You have given us the glorious ministry of reconciliation. Lead us on, Lord. Lead us on.

In Jesus Christ’s name I pray. Amen.

Loving and Almighty God,
God of power and peace,
Instill in us the wisdom that peace, to be peace, must be bought with fierce intent. Fierce intent to hear and listen to your still, small voice whispering to us in the midst of the whirlwind. Fierce intent to go forth counter to the warring and gnashing of teeth that are the way of this world today – whether national or personal.
It is in the name of the Prince of Peace, Your son, Jesus my Christ I pray.
Amen.
