Into the New Year

December 31, 2012

Today’s Reflection

TAKE ME INTO A NEW YEAR, Gracious God. Help me to continue looking for meaning, seeking peace, praying for light, dancing for joy, working for justice, and singing your praise. I go into the new year filled with expectations, a touch of worry, and a bundle of hope. I do not journey into the new year alone but with you as my guide, with a commitment to my disciplines, with a community of family, friends, and faith. Take me into the new year, Creator of beauty and wonder. Bless me with the companionship of Jesus, and gift me with the guidance and power of the Spirit. Amen.

Yes Lord, I choose to stay with you. Guide me that what I do is pleasing in your sight as I am your servant. I pray for my family, for my country for the world that all will know you, accept you, love you, and serve you.

Help each and everyone committed to new beginnings. A new baby, a new school, doing what is right for the people of our country and world, finding our way on a new year. With you in our hearts guiding and directing us, may we be faithful followers. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

I do not enter this new year alone, but with You by my side. Yes, Father, indeed. Might I call on that sooner, being quicker to recognize when I am trying to do things in my own might.

Seeking peace and singing Your praise. May these be high on the list of “evidence” in my life.

My daughter left this on Facebook–”We are in need of a Family Law Lawyer in Gloucester or Camden county. This need is urgent. If you know someone please message us if not, please keep it in prayer! ” They are a young couple with two boys struggling to make ends meet. Thanks you Lord for your aid in time of need.

May each of us vow to move on to perfection. As I look at 2013 my goal is to become homeless so that I might be more mobile for my multicontinented family as well as be more in mission to the will of God for my life. I pray and ask that you stand with me for my son, William Karimu who is incarcerated with a plea date of Jan. 22, 2013. I thank God that miracles of communication are being worked through his imprisonment. Our family is actually becoming functional(evidence of the God of laughter). Oh God we love you, Oh God we praise you, Oh God we need you, Oh God help us to be a blessing to someone somewhere today even if it is only ourselves. Amen and Amen.

Father God, in this new year, may we walk more closely with you, be wiser and kinder, be less critical and more appreciative, be more fruitful, more encouraging and shine brighter for you wherever you place us.

Consider investing in stocks that pay dividends. That way,
even if the stock declines a bit in value, you are receiving dividends that can offset
some of the losses. And if the stock price rises, the
dividends are a bonus that add directly to your bottom line.
They can also provide you with a periodic income.
