Shine In My Heart

Today’s Reflection

SHINE IN MY HEART, Lord Jesus.
–Kathleen Thomerson
“I Want to Walk as a Child of the Light”

“Shine in my heart,” the place where I experience God, the heart where I experience the God-hunger. I long for the light of Christ to shine in my heart, nurturing and sustaining my spirit.

“Shine in my heart” — illuminate the dark places in my heart: the sadness, grief, anger. Illuminate the dark places in my mind: the resentments, the frustrations. Illuminate the dark places of my spirit: the depression, the anxiety, the fear. Shine in my heart, Lord Jesus, and lighten the heaviness that paralyzes my action. Heal the wounds and sins that keep me separated from God.

“Shine in my heart” — show me the way through the confusing paths I may take, the choices too numerous, the infinite options of postmodern life. Shine in my heart as a beacon of guidance, leading me through the chaos of these days.

“Shine in my heart” — so that my life may mirror Christ’s heart and mind and hands in the world.

Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of services, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone.

Yes, Lord – shine in my heart – that I will do what is right in your sight. Thank you for always being near me, for the touches of your spirit that encourage and support me, and for your constant love and faithfulness.
In your name I give thanks, Amen

Lord, I pray for Jenny who has yet to deliver her baby, for Anneliese dealing with a head cold and uneasy stomach, for Erich getting ready for school to begin, for the Christian Unity Breakfast at church on Saturday, for peace from gun violence, for an end to war, and for your guidance to the leaders of this and every country. I am thankful for the opportunity to be able to pray, to talk with you. Thank you, Lord. Amen.

Lord, may we shine to others as you have shown to us, as your servants, as the light of the world, we can do no less. Amen.

Shine in my heart and life Lord…illuminate the dark places in my mind. Father – You know the battlefield that exists there. Indeed, the frustrations and resentments. Father – I know that You can heal me, provided that I allow You. Help me to be willing.

Father – I desire to shine for You today. Might I be mindful each moment.

Father God, thank you for nurturing and sustaining my spirit. Shine in my heart, God, I want to walk as a child of the light. Illuminate the dark places in my heart, my mind and my spirit. Shine in my heart that I may reflect the mind, heart and spirit of Christ.

I do find it harder to feel that I am doing GOD’S will when I feel sad, Depressed, or guilty. Some times it seems like GOD is sort of a PERFECTIONIST !

God is a perfectionist, Michael, and God created you– perfectly. Remember that.

Michael, God knows our limits. Whatever we do, ask God for wisdom, strength and guidance. Just do your best and leave the results to Him.
