Our Worth in God’s Eyes

June 16, 2013

Today’s Reflection

ONE OF THE GREATEST OBSTACLES facing us on the road to spiritual formation is our lack of appreciation for our infinite worth in the eyes of God. No matter what faults and failings may hamper us on our way home to our Father’s house, God loves and forgives and welcomes us.

Today’s Question

Take a moment to ask God to help you feel God’s love and forgiveness for you. Share your thoughts.

Today’s Scripture

Therefore, I tell you, her sins, which were many, have been forgiven; hence she has shown great love. But the one to whom little is forgiven, loves little.” Then he said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”
Luke 7:47-48, NRSV

This Week: pray for those whose Christian practices are different from mine. Submit your prayer to The Upper Room Living Prayer Center or share it in the comment section below.

Thank you Father God for loving us, forgiving us and welcoming us despite our faults and failings.

Lord, I am very thankful that despite my faults and failings You still love me. Help me to love others as You love me. Thank You for Men’s Communion Breakfast and our service project at church yesterday. All went well.

Lord, help us understand and appreciate those whose worship style differ from mine. May they worship You in spirit and in truth and may their worship and mine be acceptable to You. In Your name I pray, Amen.

This is often a point of emphasis by my spiritual director. She encourages me to sit quietly and know/sense God’s compassion.

Father – thank You for Your forgiveness – so complete, so blessedly assured. Lead me towards forgiveness.

Father – thank You for my earthly father – surely a man after Your heart. What an example, what a gift.

God – I’m thankful that I FINALLY see you…hear you and feel you…thank you for the gift of your Son. My strength comes from you.
