New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

THERE CAN BE a positive side to these painful consequences [of addiction]. They can make us aware that we are often powerless to change ourselves and that we do not have all the power and self-control that we once thought we did. We are not always able, in our own strength and willpower, to fix everything that is broken in our lives. We are finite human beings with definite limitations who need a power from beyond ourselves to help us live freely and fully. In the end, it is often the pain caused by our divided human will, our addictions, our habitual wrongdoing, and our negative feelings that helps us make this important discovery and finally let go of our do-it-yourself recovery attempts.

Therefore take up the whole armor of God, so that you may be able to withstand on that evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.

Thank you God that you are able to fix us no matter what state we are in.

    You are awesome God!

The serenity prayer is aiding me in assisting what is broken, misguided. Surrender, again and again, at the feet of Jesus. Not my will, but Thine be done. Accepting what His permissive will is allowing and seeking to align and be drawn closer to Him.
Grateful for pleasant temperatures yesterday and a beautiful evening to play tennis outdoors. Grateful that Monday is inching closer and today will be sufficient to prepare.

I’m human. Without God I wouldn’t exist. With God there is a way through the valleys of this life. Thank You, Lord.

Thankful that Erich starts work on Sunday, he’s very much wanted this job, not easy to find here, hope it does what is needed until the move can be made.
Grateful for the meals he makes, he’s a better cook than me.

Car has been repaired, inspected, registered, and I have a new title. Hopeful it will last until such time as a replacement is needed.

Progress on the Bismarck, the cab and attached coal and water supply bins or tanks are assembled. Test fit this assembly on the chassis and so far so good.
    Now for the boiler.

Haven’t enjoyed baseball so much in my whole life. Let’s just say it has been a long time coming and leave it at that.

Prayers for all involved with schools. It’s that time of year again. Safety and learning are my hope. Prayers for all affected in any way by illness whether directly or indirectly, healing, God’s peace, comfort, and resolution be with you. Well-being top all, may your needs be met. Know that God loves you, grace and mercy are yours. Thank You, Lord for these gifts and blessings.
In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen

I think what is broken in my life is my worrying about my loved ones. When I pray for them, I picture Jesus at their side.

Last evening, I sent an article on parenting to my daughter that I thought might interest her. I pray she receives it without feeling offended. It was written by a psychotherapist, which is also my daughter’s education and experience, and I asked her what her “take” is on it.

I am grateful for the growing closeness in our relationship.

Robert, I rejoice that Erich got the job he wanted and pray everything comes together for you and Erich logistically. I pray too for your strength and for Anneliese to have good pain relief.

Marcy has not posted for quite some time. Marcy, I keep you in my prayers, that may you regain your health and strength and have good pain relief.

Blessings, all, this late summer weekend.

Just wondering what type of colleagues i have. The minute the manager left at 5 plus, they went to the kitchen to eat and chit chat ignoring thr door bells when the parents come and pick the child. It is like the busiest time when more than a parent came to pick their children. Another time, while the children are eating, she was also eating. Thst’s the busiest time cause students keep raising their hands for permission to do this and that. Yet another time, around 3 plus, she picked the fishballs from the remaining lunch boxes and eating a box of lunch with the plastic bag of fish balls during working hours.

Just hope the big boss know about this.

Mary, it sounds so frustrating for you and I pray for your guidance and wisdom in this situation. It’s not fair that you have to be extra-busy when your colleagues are neglecting their responsibilities. Bless you, dear Mary!

        Thanks dear Andrea!

May you continue to be a blessing and encouragement to your daughter and grandson.

We are so blessed to have you here too!

        Blessings!

I am also broken when it comes to worry and fear. I also have been told (by the “husband” that I am no good and people are afraid of me – my looks). When I am out people in fact are very friendly and nice, but when someone has told you that you are less than for so long it becomes internalized. Especially because I grew up hearing it from my parents. However, I graduated second in my class from both high school and college and went on to receive 2 master’s degrees. But, I think those who put me down did and do so to make themselves feel better.
Yes, prayers for our dear Marcy. May she and Roger be safe.
Prayrs for Mary, may she have rest and peace this weekend.
Prayers for Jill as she prepares for a new school year. I pray there will no violence in our schools this year.
Prayers for Robert, Erich and Anneliese. May Anneliese be relieved of her pain. My Erich find success in his job. May Robert’s baseball team be successful.
Prayers for Andrea, her daughter and grandson. May her daughter realize she needs help to overcome her difficulties.
Prayers and blessings for all of the UR family and thank you. I am grateful for your warm words and prayers and your words on the reflections which deepen my understanding and faith.
