“Let Go!” Says God

Today’s Reflection

SOMETIMES I am tempted to cling to blessings received during times apart instead of vigilantly seeking God in the ordinary tasks and times of my life. For almost six years I lived with a small monastic community, and I often yearn for its healthy daily rhythm of prayer, work, study, and recreation. “Let go!” says God. “That was then; this is now. Walk with me on the sacred ground of the present moment, and you will find me in some unexpected places.”

Dear Father, I am sure that you would have me trust you in my marriage. I thank you for answered prayers regarding my husband joining our son and I in church and helping my husband with quitting smoking Help me to let go, and stop nagging him. Help me to trust that you are in control and have everything worked out perfectly. We also are praying for financial freedom. Thank you for your provisions and always knowing what we need. I lift my friend, Jo in prayer for her move back home with her family. I pray she finds a job she enjoys, that she sells her home here, and that you, Lord have a special someone to share her life with. Lord, thank you always for your grace and all the blessings. In th precious Name of Jesus Amen

The same as he asked of the rich young man–to be able to give away all that I have. I don’t own anything I can’t give away, it owns me. And to leave all the people I love to him and his greater love and care. I don’t have to fix and boss everybody and that is such a freedom.

I think God is asking me to let go of how his way is…Jesus taught the disciples the way of God and Peter would not have it. Again, I will get in line behind Jesus; the way, the truth and the life; and stop telling the Lord the way I think he should go.
