What Are You Hungry For?

Today’s Reflection

WHAT ARE YOU HUNGRY FOR? What do you desire – and what desire lies beneath that desire – or within it? What does your wanting teach you about yourself; about what you love, what you fear, what is possible? How does your longing meet the world’s longing? How do you pray with your desires?

Where the world of the hunger below you meets the hunger of the world within you: may you find yourself in this place.

I’m hungry for the welfare of my family. There is a lot going on at the moment and its going well. I’m glad of that. There’s more to think about and do. I ask for God’s guidance and wisdom that the right decisions will be made and all will work out as God would want it.

Lord, I met a neighbor I seldom see yesterday and all went well. Thank You. May things continue to go well with neighbors. May relationships develop as You would have them. In Your name I pray. Amen.

I am hungry for continued proper perspectives on relationships. The peace that I craved for so long – I am finally experiencing a taste of it. Glory to God! Praise be to Him!

Father, You did increase my faith. Thank You. Might I continue to pursue You through all of my interactions. You first, Father.

My main desire is for inner peace, a state that often seems to have the noisiest, hilliest of roads. I have to plan to ‘be still and know that He is God.’ I love the “noises and hills” of life and must find and take opportunities to be in quiet prayer and conversation with our Heavenly Father.
