Spiritual Discernment

Today’s Reflection

MANY PEOPLE ASK …, “How do I know what God wants me to do?” and “How do I know when it is God speaking and not my own voice echoing in my desires?” Discernment is the way by which we find the answer to the first question and sort out the voices in the second question.

Spiritual discernment is about finding God’s yearning for the direction of our life. It is not a once-and-for-all answer to our questions but a continual seeking for God’s longing as we accept the invitation to live into the abundance God so freely gives us.

Have I discerned God’s will? Am I correct in doing what I do? With whom should I share my understanding? These are the questions I would ask.

Thankful Erich is off to his first day of work, training to run a gondola that takes people to a restaurant high on the side of a mountain. Like my aunt and uncle who managed a cafe and the ski lift on the same mountain when I was a high school student, Erich continues the tradition. Thankful seeds have germinated and plants are coming up in the garden.

Prayers for Anneliese as she goes to pain management today. Prayers too that a solution to the well at the house for sale will be found. Today I see a doctor following up on treatment I had for my sprained ankle.

Lord help all of us clearly discern Your will, that Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Your will done, Your kingdom will come.

May we all stay calm and cool during this hot spell. Many blessings and take good care UR family.

May God help guide the gondola.

Yes, that is a precious thought. Thank you!

…and may God guide Erich, the gondolier. Prayers too for your ankle, Robert; Anneliese’s pain management; and a good solution to the well problem and further progress toward house-selling. God bless.

Thank you Andrea for your prayers. You are lifted up making them and in my prayers too.

This, as you know is my current struggle. What is my purpose, what plan does God have for me what are my talents. Even what church should I attend. My spiritual identity is now very much in flux. So I have no insights but would greatly accept any and all insights offered here. I have come to value the friendship and comments of those who visit this wonderful forum.
Blessings and prayers for all of our little UR community today . I hope everyone is receiving the benefiit of our collective prayers

Julie, you are searching and you will find your answers. Jesus tells us to do what you are doing. I pray that you find the answers in God’s own time for they will be the best answers.

Yes, collective prayers bring results, thank you!

You have many talents, great faith, and a thirst for knowledge. May God guide you and grant you supernatural discernment.
