Listen As We Pray

Today’s Reflection

ANY GOOD CONVERSATION consists of both listening and speaking. In a natural rhythm — a dance — both partners move and respond to each other in time to the music. This is no less true of the process of prayer. After a time of listening to God in the stillness, we are moved to respond. … Wait for the words to arise from deep within.

While I, unlike Jesus, often find it hard to pray, the listening part of prayer is even more difficult. Lord, I need Your help with both parts of prayer.

Anneliese goes to pain management today. I ask that it will go well and she has a comfortable ride there and back home. I’m thankful that this help is possible. Hoping the house sale comes soon. Erich is making progress at work and research into becoming an innkeeper is underway. The completion of my move comes this week. Prayers for Betsy and Grace in this time of mourning, for Julie, her situation and health, Andrea’s arm, Mary recovering from the flu, Lou and her children, Rusty and K, Connie, Carol, and Jill. The Lord be with You all. Thank You, Lord.

May there be unity in communities all around the world.

Thanks so much for your prayers, Robert. I have recovered speedily and today a very pleasant surprise from my ex student who visited me at school and brought a wooden craft she made specially for me.

Praise God for inspiring me to teach through her visit!

I also find it difficult to listen to God. I am not able to be still and silent enough. I enjoy the practice and gain much from when I am able to be still. Yet finding the time is a struggle. What I do believe is that when God has something to tell us He finds a way. As Jonah found no one can escape God when Hee has a message or task for us. I feel that God talks to me through the words shared here.
I am thankfull both to the Lord and those who share here for the Christian mentoring I have found here.
Prayers and blessings to all who visit and thei concerns both shared and not
