Embraced in Warm Cotton

Today’s Reflection

JESUS CHRIST said, “I will not leave you orphaned.” He said, “God is your Father.” He would not treat God and people differently. He did not speak of people and the transcendent God as separated. He did not teach that God is far off and to be feared. He did not teach that God had cast us off. Always God is the Comforter. God would have us feel that we are embraced in warm cotton.

I am so grateful for God’s Presence in my life. When I am unable to sense it – it is because I am not in tune, not because He is far off. I must move back into the circle…His circle of Love. Re-calibration.
I pray for my friend – part of her issues with anxiety/depression are linked to the inability to accept His Presence and Love…to feel as tho she must earn it. I am very sad that this is felt by many people and so deeply grateful I don’t have this sense.
Much rain this morning has cancelled my golf date with my dad. While I am disappointed – I have the luxury of much time this morning to sit in my blue chair – and to re-calibrate. Have been away for a few days and my morning time is never the same unless I am in my blue chair.
Grateful for safe travel, for cooperative weather for outside activities, for favorite little boutiques to stop at along the way.

I know that God will never leave me. I trust in that and keep turning to that in the midst of continued difficulties. I try hard as I can to stay focused on my faith and belief in that one thing. I was having a particularly stressful morning yesterday and feeling very sad- on my way to work I decided to count my blessings – they included a text message of support from a wonderful friend – I smiled in my car at a little girl on the street corner and she waved at me- and I passed a church bus with large letters that said – Jesus will carry you….I had a very long but good work day after those small but significant blessings. God is here. He will never leave us- Blessings to you all today.

God has been very close lately, in answers to simple prayers and in “delivering me from evil”. I thank Him for this.
It was nice to start the day with uplifting words from Jill and Lou. I soaked in every word! How wonderful to know them and others here.
