God, I Need Your Help

Today’s Reflection

HAVING LIVED WITH HIV for nearly two decades, I have had my share of struggles: a bout with pneumonia, loss of weight and muscle mass, extreme fatigue, depression, and losing nearly 3,000 of my friends to HIV/AIDS.

On my good days, I greet the morning with a smile, give thanks to God for another beautiful day, and go on living life to its fullest.

But the bad days make it hard to accept living with AIDS. On those days I start with a simple prayer: “God, you know how hard it is for me today. I need your help.” As soon as I feel God’s arms around me, I remember Psalm 23. Then I am able to climb out of bed singing my favorite hymn, “Then sings my soul, … how great thou art!” …

God, let me feel your loving arms holding me today. And make that so for all those who suffer. Amen.

Yes, Father – may each one here in the UR family sense Your strong and comforting arms embracing us where we are.
Psalm 23 has taken on a renewed meaning to me. I want not…He leads me…He quiets me…He restores me…He is with me…He comforts me…I will be with Him forever – Hallelujah!!
Grateful for energy to get through a busy day at school yesterday. Was able to get to bed early last night and slept deeply. Spoke with mom a bit last night – she sounded a little better. She made a pumpkin pie for dad – he can only eat soft stuff right now…glad she got the focus off her woes and did that for him. Mom is supposed to go to an art/craft show with my sister and I tomorrow morning – hoping she will feel up to it.
Lifting Lou and her children up this morning, Rusty and K as well. Father, I know You are watching over them, as You watch over all of us.

Jill, I am glad to hear your mother is able to rise out of the doldrums.

I have been awake for awhile now. I sleep so lightly and awaken so easily lately. I tripped outside and hit my knee on pavement yesterday, and then I twisted it at home when I slipped on the stairs. It’s not a serious injury but it is sore and annoying.

I had lunch with my daughter yesterday and am thankful for the time together.

Prayers for my UR friends. May you all be filled with hope.

Grateful another long and tiring day is over. Had to take a special student who actually belongs to another class cause that class is too noisy. The students in my class tend to bully her cause is is special and they can be quite voilent, pushing tables, etc

Please pray for my Monday interview. It is supervising the teachers and managing difficult students.

    Blessings to all!

Yes, many of us here can relate to this words of this reflection. Know that each of your prayer requests are written and noted in my prayer journal and your requests are lifted up by me during the day. Lou, has your son found a job? Andrea, I too, have trouble sleeping. A mystery pain in my ankle kept me from deep sleep as well as a nightmare. I pray you sleep well tonight.
Yes, Robert, your characterization of this group as different parts of one body is spot on and we need each part. I value each part and love each part. Have strength today my friends.

This is not an “encouraging word”….truth be told, I am a year more weary. I hope I get a “second wind” as I used to as the holidays approach.
Prayers for all concerns mentioned today.
Thankful for each and every one of you.
    Maranatha.
