New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

BE STILL and let my love surround you,
Be calm now that my grace has found you.
Be joyful now that i have set you free.
Be trusting and follow me faithfully.

Remember all I have done for you.
Remember that my love is true.
Remember who I made you to be,
Remember that I love you and the best is yet to be.

When life gets hard and you want to give up,
When the road gets long and the path gets tough,

When you’re scared and alone and you want to hide,
When the whole world’s against you, I’ll be by your side.

Be still and let my love wash over you.
Be still and watch all I can do.
Be still and believe in me.
Be still and I will set you free.

I pray this, with tears, for my mom. We received wonderful news yesterday – as the liver biopsies were BENIGN! We were not given a stage for the colon cancer yet, nor a report on surrounding lymph nodes. But knowing there is not another surgery coming for the liver issue is huge for my family. My dad, sister and I rejoice in the news. Mom is so weak and tired that she is unable, at this time, to be positive. I hope that will change soon – as she was able to come home last evening. She should be able to rest much better in her own bed and begin to regain her strength. I, and my family, so appreciate the prayers lifted up by you all, my other family.
I pray this prayer for myself as well. Just been trying to get through each day, and I, too, am weary. I feel if I can get through school tomorrow – there will be some reprieve this weekend. Tho – I will be spending much time at my folks’.
I surely easily recall all that God has done. I look back over the past 6 months – and rejoice at the amount of peace I have experienced through all of it. Yes there were difficulties, times of sorrow, times of exhaustion – but always God was at my side. Oh, yes, a much clearer understanding and sense of His Sovereignty. Yes – His grace has found me. Yes – I see Him at work, and I am humbled.

Praise the Lord for such wonderful news from Jill. Thank You, Lord. Prayers for resolution of the colon and lymph node concerns. Prayers for strength and courage in the coming days and a restful weekend.

Yes, today’s reflection tells the truth. I’m a witness to it. So many times God has pulled me through, given me wisdom, strength, and recovery. Resources to carry on come from the Lord.

Thankful that Bungee, renamed Pearl because of a white spot on her otherwise all black body, is doing well after a short adjustment period. She’ll get a vet check up tomorrow. Still miss Isis, but Pearl is helping relieve the pain.

Thankful for Lenten lunch today, bills paid, a delicious supper last night, and as always posts from the UR family. Prayers that Mary will find a better job, Julie’s hands and toe will improve as the weather warms, she will remain mobile, and her daughter will find a job; healing, recovery, and improving resources for Marcy; strength, courage, and resources for Lou, peace and rest for Betsy, and well being for Andrea, Lowell, Andrea’s daughter, grandson, and son-in-law. Blessings and peace to Connie, April, Pam, and Chloe. Prayers of healing, recovery for Rusty and K. Thank You, Lord for all You do for us.

Thanks Robert for your prayers and powerful testimony!

      Blessings

Julie – I keep forgetting to tell you…keep those quotes coming each day. At the beginning of each week I post a quote in the corner of my board. And – many of my students notice and comment. Usually I use one that comes through in daily emails from gratefulness.og. But – I have been writing down some of yours and saving them. One of them is on my board this week. Thanks for touching me and my students.

Julie – I too appreciate those quotes. The one from Thomas Jefferson stood out – When you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot, and hang on!
You do wonders for us, thank you!

      • Connie Posted March 1, 2018 9:12 am

I liked that one, too, Robert.
        Pearl sounds like a delight.

        • robert moeller Posted March 8, 2018 6:43 am

Better late than never. Thanks for your reply. I’m digging my way out of a slew of emails. Will have some snow to deal with too. More on the way tomorrow.

Sorry. Today is the 15th of the lunar new year. Our family celebrated one day earlier

      Have a wonderful weekend everyone

Brought to tears repeatedly, first by poem, then by Jill and Robert. God knew what I needed this morning. The poem describes my feelings of late. I am tired and the pain seems too much. I am weak and do not want to continue to deal with life as it is currently. I needed the words of this poem to carry me onward. I will write them down.
Likewise, the kind and supportive words from Jill and Robert were also what I needed to hear. I feel useless. The quotes are from a book that is a companion to the book “Wonder” which was made into a movie. Every person should read it. I intend to read it every year. Thank you again and agaain.
Jill, so wonderful your mother is home and with good news. I pray her recovery is speedy. Praying also for equally good news regarding lymph nodes.
Robert, glad to hear Pearl is adjusting. Thank you for your words remindng me that God is with me in my pain. As He helped you He will help me.
Mary, glad you have times of joy with your parents. Prayers for new position with fewer responsibilties.
Blessings and prayers and thanks to my UR family
Kind words d not cost much. Yet they accompish much.
    Blaise Pascal
(I have witnessed this today thanks to you wonderful people and God knowing I needed these words.)

      Thanks Julie and Andrea!

I feel so blessed with all the prayer warriors like you all here at UR

May God bless you and your family abundantly

Prayers of rejoicing for the good news on Jill’s mother’s liver biopsy, and prayers that the rest of the pathology report will also be good news. Jill, keeping you and your family in prayer and hoping you will get some rest this weekend.

Julie, I lift you up in prayer, praying your situation will look up, praying for you to have new strength and courage. I pray too for you to have more support. Blessings.

Mary, praying for you in your current pisition… and for something much, much better for you.

Marcy, so glad you are back (although we did not see a comment from you yesterday). Praying for your health and support and thanking you for your steadfast prayers.

Robert, it is delightful to read about Erich’s new kitten, Pearl. What a sweet and elegant name for the little bundle of joy. Prayers for you, for Erich’s job hunt, and for Anneliese.

My grandson is sick again. Yesterday, my daughter expressed discouragement about the difficulties of being a parent to a very bright and curious 3 year old and her feeling of inadequacy. I ask for and thank you for your prayers for them. My husband is much, much better, thankfully. Please pray for me to get on top of house-cleaning, my nemesis.

I love the imagery in Psalm 19, long one of my favorite Psalms. Verse 2 is so lovely: “Day to day pours forth speech, and night to night declares knowledge.” That verse comforts me in times of darkness. God is always with us.
