New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

I’M LEARNING THE IMPORTANCE OF REST. If I’m always on the go, I’m exhausted. I need some quiet time. My physical health depends upon it. My emotional health depends on slowing down. To deal with the stress of life, I need a time of calm. My spiritual life depends on it. I can’t make it on my own but depend on my faithful Savior, Jesus Christ.

Rest, both physical and mental, is essential to my well being. Right now, I am lacking both and it is evident in pretty much every aspect of my life. While it was good in some respects – to get away this past weekend, my physical rest suffered greatly. I have labored through the past two days of school, making silly mental mistakes in class. I thought I would be able to make up some ground last evening, but had trouble falling asleep. Today is very full…school, getting my car worked on after school, taking dinner to my parents and then small group this evening. Trusting God to sustain me…physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually.

Yes, rest is essential, now and then naps are part of my day. Some are voluntary and some just happen. I can go a day or two with less sleep, but then it catches up to me and it takes a while for me to recover.

Prayers for you, Jill, you have a busy and long day. Hope your parents are recovering, each has a different health issue. Having a meal brought is a great blessing.

Prayers for Marcy and Julie. Thankful for their posts even as they have tough days. No new word from Anneliese, I am hopeful that she may have had the ablation that was coming earlier and that this has made a great difference.

Progress with a project for my son, worked together and have the parts cut, next to assemble them and produce a cover for the audio equipment.

Thankful that my taxes are done and will be paid. An unexpected surprise a model of BIRCH, a car that appeared on the Canadian National – Central Vermont – Boston & Maine Ambassador passenger train is on its way to me
Was able to fix a track problem that was derailing passenger cars Had a good work out at the gym, my first time there in almost a month.

Keeping an eye on the nor’easter. At the moment the forecast does not have it coming this far north.

A Lenten lunch tomorrow. Prayers for all of the UR family as we near Palm Sunday. Thank You, Lord, for all the blessings You give us each day.

Prayers for Robert, Erich, and Annaliese. I pray you have succesfully resolved your bank issues. I am thankful that you and Erich are working together on a project. What wonderful memories.
Prayers and blessings for and heartfelt thanks to all of the UR family and their concerns shaed or not
Hope is the sun. When its behind the clouds its not gone. You just have to find it.

Thank you Julie! My bank problem is resolved, the protective cover for audio equipment is built and in place, my son made a nice pork roast dinner with kale, and a baked yam. Cherry-apple pie for dessert. Thankful for these blessings.

Prayers for your hands and foot. I learned yesterday that my counselor’s wife has Reynaud’s so I know more about your hands.

Very helpful and interesting quotes that you post for us. Thank you!

Yes, rest is very important and there never seems to be enough. The time change certainly doesn’t help. Hope Jill gets some restful sleep in order to complete her tasks. When I was working I used to pray that my few hours of sleep would seem like eight and my Gracious God answered me.
Let’s all link “virtual” arms as we journey to the cross and beyond.

    • robert moeller Posted March 22, 2018 4:19 am
