New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

O GOD, I SURRENDER TO YOU THE HABITS and sins that, like frost, chill my soul and cause your life-giving energy to cease its flow in me. Uproot me from the weed patches of evil wherein I have chosen to sink my roots. Plant me instead in your field of righteousness.

Yes, plant me in Your field of Righteousness. Lead me in Your paths. O Lord, hear our cries and comfort us in our distresses. You are our God, our times are in Your hands.
Robert – I love that you mentioned Crawford Notch. My sister and I traveled up through your neck of the woods to Maine 4 summers ago. We hiked all around, including 2 days in the Crawford Notch area. My sister loves waterfalls and we hit a few in that area as well as part of the Appalachian Trail. She is enthralled by the AT.
Betsy – the students’ last day was yesterday. We have a day full of meetings today and likely a half day tomorrow. I head into this summer with a different perspective following my 25th year teaching. The classroom has been my safe haven this year – a place where I had to be “on” and as focused as possible…thus allowing me to step away as much as I could from circumstances. It is where things were normal and I was in “control”. It will be good to spend time with dad golfing and I will be more intentional about spending time with mom. Hopefully she will continue to have lots of good days and get stronger. I am hoping we will be able to do some outdoor craft festivals/shows on weekend as has been our habit the past several summers. There is a local one this weekend that we always go to. It’s a good one.
Julie – glad you were able to speak with a lawyer.
Grateful for summer Bible study which began last evening. Starting next week I will be attending the Tuesday morning session as opposed to the Wednesday evening session. Hoping to meet new women. We are studying 1 John.

Thankful for a wonderful supper last night, for Jill’s 25 years in the classroom, the news about Jill’s summer activities, and Julie’s visit with a lawyer.

The AT-Appalachian Trail was started after and inspired by the Long Trail in VT.Part of the AT is on the Long Trail in the southern part of VT. Crawford Notch reminds me of a visit to Yosemite which is much larger and more dramatic. I’m also a fan of Smuggler’s Notch between Stowe and Jeffersonville. Much narrower, only a two lane narrow highway that is one lane in spots, very curvy and not trucks, buses, or RVs. Each place has it’s awesome features. That a train goes through Crawford Notch and another one climbs Mount Washington is amazing.

Yes, Lord. uproot me and transplant me in the fields of righteousness. Im thankful that when this earthly tent is done, there is a place for my soul.

No reply from the Memory Clinic, I have given up on any further interaction there.

Thankful the last of the garden seeds are in the ground, joyful to see some plants already coming up. Bills are paid, enjoyed some very nice chocolate and have more.

Thank you Betsy for your birthday wishes. Was glad to hear from my daughter
yesterday, hope to talk to her again today.

Anneliese had a good follow up appointment wit her new family practice doctor and will see an ENT doctor about her voice. She doesn’t talk so much and the doctor thinks that is why her voice is not so strong.

Thankful for a very good night’s sleep, 9 pm – 4 am. Pearl was super friendly this morning, ate and played, and by 6 was taking a nap.

The possibility of a Bismarck type HO scale model on the layout keeps me thinking. I have so much of what is needed, just have to get it all together.

Thankful for patience, it has been a very helpful attribute and sustained me
    life long.

Prayers for the joys and concerns, the needs and hopes of the UR family, my church family, and my family. Blessings to all of you. Thank You, Lord.

Patience…..something I struggle with often. Please help me to surrender to your will and time frame, Lord. Lead me where you need me to be of service.

Robert, your trip sounds amazing! Don’t quite know all the landmarks, but I have visited the southern coast of Maine, close to Portland (sister lives there), and it’s beautiful.

Jill, 25 years in the classroom, and you are still energetic and inspiring to your students! They are so blessed to have a dedicated teacher to guide their steps into adulthood. Enjoy your summer…..you’ve earned it.

Julie, your struggles can seem insurmountable, but God is with you. Don’t ever feel unworthy of his grace; He loves you and will see you through this . Praying for wisdom as you meet with lawyers.

Marcy, will be lifting you as you see the pulmonary doc on the 11th. May God guide your next steps.

Prayers for April, Mary and all who came and rest here awhile here. Jill, I have picked up the Miller book on prayer that you mentioned a few days ago. Am looking forward to the message of deepening my prayer life.

I apologize in advance, but you are my only support group
I am constantly terrified. He is talking about the divorce and trying to bully me into agreeing to things. I do not agree and he becomes mre angry. As I have no income of my own,I am scared because I do not know how things work. I will have money following the divorce but in the meantime how to proceed. Will he contnue to pay for things and how do I fiind housing etc until I have the money from the divorce.
    So many questions
Why did I ever quit a great job and trust him. I made more money than most people and had good benefits.
Sooo sorry but this is all that is in my head
Prayers for all who come here

    • Mary Ng Shwu Ling Posted June 8, 2018 7:46 am

Julie, may God stop your husband from bullying you and may He provide for all your needs.

I commit you into God’s hands, Julie

      Blessings

Yes, “I surrender all. All to Thee my blessed Savior”.
    Thankful for:
My Hummingbirds have returned….I guess they sent out scouts earlier, but now the “regulars” are back in full force.
    The brilliant sunrise.
    I have accomplished tasks.
Prayers for Julie, bless her heart. Prayers for Jill’s Mother and Father, Marcy and All. Robert, I planted Forget-me-not seeds and am hoping I see results. Love to Betsy and her helpful posts. Lou, keep on keepin’ on!
