New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

EVERYONE IS GIFTED for special ministries. Although some people say they aren’t, they may be thinking about talents or natural abilities. Some even excuse themselves from serving in the church because they claim the absence of usuable talents and skills. But the biblical truth is that all Christians have spiritual gifts that carry extraordinary powers and responsibilities.

Today’s Scripture

So we are always confident; even though we know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord — for we walk by faith, not by sight.

Julie – may He quiet your trembling, inside and out. I pray His peace will be your peace, in a strong measure. Cling to Him, for He holds you in this situation.

Julie, this is a passage used by David McNeely from today’s d365.org devotion. I hope it strengthens you as it did me!
“God has the power to provide you with more than enough of every kind of grace. That way, you will have everything you need always and in everything to provide more than enough for every kind of good work.” 2 Corinthians 9:8

Yes, Julie, God is with you. Lots of God’s wisdom in the posts your UR family has sent you this morning. I’ll add that God can change a situation just as the pain of childbirth becomes joy when the baby is delivered. God’s comfort and peace be with you.

Wow, I m humbled beyond belief!
I am heartened by the many prayers but even more by the outpouring of love not only from those who post regularly, but by many new posters. Thank you to one and all and welcome to the new posters.
I have felt God speaking to me throughout this. Today I felt angry with myself. I have never felt or adicted as the victum. But this disease has rendered me unable to work and this has caused me so much fear. In the past I always worked and I have related that I had a great job as an engineer. But I remembered the verse about God giving us a spirit of strength not fear and I was heartened. Then, He sent me sign. I subscribe to a Guideposts email and the scripture was THAT VERY VERSE!!! It is from 1 or 2 Timothy, I can’t remember the exact verses.
Thank you again and I continue to pray for each of you.

Julie, so relieved to hear “back” from you after your first post! Yes, I agree, everyone’s prayers were (always) spot on! I can only add my small (logical? ) contribution that I hope he has to pay enough spousal support to you for you to live comfortably until or unless you receive BETTER!
