New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

CONSIDER YOUR prayer life. Do you just whisper a quick prayer before meals? Do you only pray when you face an emergency? Give new life to your prayer routine by praying throughout the day. Talk with God about the ordinary and extraordinary parts of everyday life, knowing that God will listen.

Yes, ordinary things, food on the table, my car repaired, an appointment made, prayers of thanks for these and other things, events, are all in my prayers. It is the simple and ordinary than makes life happen and enable us to
recognize, acknowledge God. Thank You, Lord.

It took a while to find the key to my car yesterday at the garage, but it was found, and I made it to the hockey meet and greet with time to spare. Thankful for clothes washed and dried, milk on cereal for breakfast, and Pearl cared for. Anneliese’s new meds are helping and she feels much better, The painting Erich did came out well. There’s progress with the locomotive building directions translation and some actual model building. Thank You, Lord.

Prayers for Gloria, Larry, Becky, and Jill, Marcy, Julie, Julie’s daughter, Mary, Andrea, Father Erwin, Lowell, Andrea’s daughter and grandson; Connie, Betsy, Grace, Rusty and K, Lou, her children and Mom. Thankful God is with you. Blessings to all to come to the UR, you are most welcome here!

I also had an answered prayer for an ordinary request. I read the time wrong for my brother’s appointment yesterday, and thought I would have to reschedule. I called the office and they had just had an opening for a later time that same day, so we didn’t have to cancel. An answered prayer fo me and my brother. We also had safe travels to and from the town where we saw his doctor, and had a positive report. God is good. Yes, the routine things are often God intervening in our lives. I just need to remember to lift these opportunities up to allow Him to step in.
Prayers to our UR family this day.

Cooler temps, a walk with my little dog this morning, the beautiful sunshine, a safe place to live, opportunities and good health for my children, an upcoming visit from my mother and brother so that they can see where I live now, and a good job that I need to get ready for. All of these things are given to me by God and I am thankful. Ordinary for me but not so ordinary for all in this world. Prayers for those in need and continues prayers for all of those here at the UR. I continue to follow everyone and pray daily for you all-thank you for always including me and my family in your prayers. Blessing to all on a beautiful summer morning.

When I can’t find something (which is often) I sing “Open my eyes, illumine me”. God hears.
So good to hear from Lou. Yes, the cooler weather is conducive to being outside and enjoying it.
    Hello to Robert and Betsy.

My kittens and my daughter are blessings from God. A trip tomorrow to visit my mother and celebrate her seventy fifth birthday. As my mother says, that she is able to continue to do for herself. And of course I am thankful for this UR family and God’s love, strength, provision, and guidance.
Prayers for Robert, Erich, Anneliese aand Pearl. Robert s aalways such a wonderful example of a humble life lived for the Lord.
Prayers for Betsy and her brother. May they both continue to be full of good health and Your love.
Prayers for Lou and her family. Prayers for safe travel for her mother and brother and a good visit.
Prayers for Marcy. I pray she has been able to attend all her doctor appointments. My kitty Chai is sprawled out in the middle of the family room. He does this every morning as he gts too warm under the electric blanket. Yes, we have an electric blanket for the kittens to sleep on or in wth a fleece blanket on top. They are very spoiled. Tazzie is on the blanket, on top of the fleece blanket.
Prayers for Mary. I pray an administrator takes over the duties that Mary is currently doing so she can teach more.
Prayers and blessings for and thank you to all of this warm UR family and I echo Robert’s welcome
