New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

IT IS NOT YOU WHO SHAPE GOD,
it is God who shapes you.
If, then, you are the work of God,
await the hand of the artist who does all things in due season.
Offer the Potter your heart,
soft and tractable,
and keep the form in which the Artist has fashioned you.
Let your clay be moist,
lest you grow hard and lose the imprint of the Potter’s fingers.
–Psalm 139, adapted by Irenaeus (2nd century)

Thank you God for shaping me and still working on me!

    Blessings!

You are the potter, Lord, and I am the clay. Mold me and make me.

Grateful for a gentle, soaking rain this morning. Bless us, God, each and everyone.

Wow ! These Upper Room lessons have been coming to me the last two weeks at a time I need direction. I am losing weight according to plan, so I can breath better with my emphysema, and maybe move to an area where I have family, many miles away. I am alone here. Thank you Lord. Also, thank you my buddy, Jim.

I just lost 15 minutes of typing here…
I enjoyed this Psalm. May I not become old and hard. May I be pliable t the Lord that He may mold me for His use in bringing His love to others.
Prayers for Mary nd her parents. May Mary’s stress at work be reduced and her burden lightened. May her parents pain be less today.
Prayers for Betsy and her family. May God give her a day of sunshine following the rain to bring green grass and colorful flowers.
Prayers of thanks for bringing Glenn to us to share his words. Prayers of thanks for his weight loss. In the past, those who chose shared where we live and I am curious if you would also feel like you would likee to share. I live in Pittsburgh PA. Prayers of thanks for his friend Jim who brought Glenn to us.
Prayers for Robert and Erich as they seek and wait.
Prayers for Marcy, may she have pain relief today. My kitty story continues… They cannot be fed freely. Chai gains weight too easily and is permantly on weight control food. Tazzie is like the ancient Romans who would feast then “empty their stomachs” so they could feast more. He will gorge himself the turn his head and “empty his stomach” on the floor and continue eating.
Prayers and blessings for all dear UR family members

Not often that I have a pain that keeps me a little off balance, but last night one started at 3 am in my neck. After eating something and then going for a walk, things improved quickly and I’m back to normal. Of course that delayed my post until now. Will reread yesterday’s posts and respond top them as well as today’s when I am back from a church meeting.

    Blessings to all

So much to be thankful for after reading yesterday’s posts Yes, Andrea job hunting id a stressful activity. There are jobs, they are often what no one wants to do, since they are back breaking and low paying. Hopeful the move, we know where we want to go, just have to be well prepared, do good research, and most importantly ask for God’s guidance and wisdom.

  • robert moeller Posted August 15, 2018 7:25 pm

Thank you Connie, Julie, and Mary. Helpful, positive, posts. Glad the tough week is behind you Connie. Prayers that a job is forthcoming and there are positive developments with the end of a tough relationship. Prayers for Mary and the challenging situation at school with both admin duties and teaching.
The Lord keep all three of you in his arm.

Glad you are here Glenn, thankful your friend helped you here.

Yes, Betsy, may we all be the clay and fully allow the potter to mold us and make us.
