New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

JESUS PRAYED that we might be one.
One in spirit
One in mission
In union and communion with each other and with you.

Today, God, we confess fumblings and failures in accomplishing unity, as we set aside yet another day to remind ourselves of the task. On this World Communion Sunday, give us eyes to recognize your reflection in the eyes of Christians everywhere. Give us a mind to accept and celebrate our differences. Give us a heart big enough to love your children everywhere. We thank you for setting a table with space enough for us all! Amen.

Yes, Father, unite us. May we all work in unison to bring Your kingdom come. My Monday evening Bible study is on 1 Corinthians. The exhortation by Paul in the first chapter is so strong – to be united, to preach only Christ crucified. Not earthly wisdom.

Yes, God, grant us one spirit, one heart, one mind and one mission in unison and communion with each other and with you.

In our unison and communion, may YOU be glorified, O God!

    Blessings!

Lord, help all of us seek unity in You. Thankful that in disagreement we still all acknowledge You. Guide and direct us on the path that leads to You.

Thankful for time at the gym, laundry done, some clean up accomplished, bills paid, and good meals. A doctor checkup this morning and squash peeling tonight. Chicken pie supper tomorrow with potato peeling at 8 am and clean up after the dinner.

Jill, Connie, Julie, Mary in Singapore, and Betsy. Thank you for your posts with comments and prayers. Prayers for Gloria, Larry, Jill, and Becky as all of you are affected by cancer in some way. Connie and Julie, I have appreciated bagpipes since 1959 when a Canadian Black Watch regimental pipe band played at the 350th celebration of Champlain’s trip to the lake that now bears his name. Soon thereafter a recording of the Edinburgh Police Pipe Band arrived. No longer in existence today, in those days they won world championships. Prayers for Julie’s hands, foot, job search, and home life.Prayers for Mary in Singapore, her parents, the school where she teaches and does so many extra jobs. Blessings to you Betsy for your ministry to those in prison.

Prayers for Marcy, her migraines, breathing, other health issues, and need for support. Prayers too for all who come to the UR, may your needs be met, may you feel and know God’s love, be uplifted fellow believer, God is always with us. Thank You, Lord.
