New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

DEAR LORD, thank you for my church
and for the people who are a part of it.
I’m grateful to be reminded each Sunday of
who I want to be,
who you want me to be, and
who you want us to be together.

Continue to guide the pastor, other leaders, and each church family member.
Keep us faithful to you and to the mission you have given us.
Help our lives better reflect your love, both as individuals and as a community.

I pray for courage and encouragement
for those who are starting new churches.
Let their lives show your love and caring
so that many people who need you will find you.

Help my living always be a credit to my church
and a sign of my faith in you. Amen.

Today’s Question

Today’s Scripture

Indeed, the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing until it divides soul from spirit, joints from marrow; it is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Hebrews 4:12, NRSV

Love this prayer – especially the final sentence…the mindfulness is so necessary. I add to the prayer this – Father, continue to bless the young married couples who are entering foster care. This area can be so many things…rewarding, challenging, edifying…sustain them in Your strength as they desire to show Your love to these children and their birth parents.
Grateful to be caught up, however so briefly, with schoolwork. Grateful for a delicious Fall treat which finally arrived in the store yesterday – pumpkin pie ice cream sandwiches. Grateful for restorative sleep overnight, despite much rain and storms.
Prayers for those aiding in the relief efforts in the Panhandle.

Father God, may you revive the chuch and let it shine brightly.

In our church, may you be glorified, O God!

    Blessings!

A long, but good day, Erich has a job, he should start training next week, there is good incentive with this job that should be helpful. We saw two houses we liked in the new location, they are a both nice, but roads to them are not so good. Slowly we make progress. Home before the rain started. Thank You,
Lord for a safe and good trip/day.

Prayers for those in Hurricane Michael’s path, every church, its leaders and congregations, and all the UR family.

Re: Yesterday’s post……”Trust and obey, for there’s no better way to be happy in Jesus than to trust and obey”
      This I believe.

As you all know I have not attended my church in quite some time. I do not share many of the new pastor’s views and opinions. I also related that I was dismayed when I did attend at the lack of members at the service. I think our church is dying. I feel that I should do something but I do not feel that the pastor would be supportive or welcoming. I do need to find a church. The one I watch on tv is about 30 or 45 minutes away which would be difficult for me to attend when my fingers are bad.
Prayers for Jill and her family. May they all cherish each moment.
Prayers for Mary and her courage to step out of her comfort zone.
Prayers for Robert and Erich. May this job be one Erich can remain in for a long time. Thankful for safe travel and prayers for a smooth transition to new town.
Prayers for Connie and her family. Prayers for Betsy and her ministry.
Prayers for Marcy. I am worried, pleaase God keep her safe.
Prayers for Andrea and her family. Prayers for Lou and her children.
Prayers for April and our new sister in Christ, Ana.
Prayers for each and every person who visits this wonderful group. We are all a family

Take heart, Julie. God is with us whenever or wherever we are as we worship Him. Of course, He would prefer in His sanctuary, but He knows our hearts and our love for Him and will wait for us there until we are able to attend.

Julie, thanks for praying for us daily. May your fingers be healed and may you find a church suitable for you soon. May you be able to find a job soon too. Maybe you can work from home. May all be well for you.

      Blessings!

What A beautiful prayer. This is also my prayer. I love the church that God has given to man for His glory and for man’s benefit and edification. This web is like A mentor for me. It makes me feel better and I feel like someone really cares about me and that I’m not all alone in the world.
