New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

JESUS COMES ALONGSIDE us with compassion in our internal renovations as well. As we navigate uncertainty, make messes, and try to build something new on the emotional foundation we’ve been given, we can find companionship and love in the process. We can come alongside ourselves with compassion and understand that Jesus approaches us with compassion too. Jesus calmly and lovingly crouches down to help us pick up our messes, with a silent understanding that says, “Me too.”

I don’t know that He has started anything new in me this week. I wanted to start having a dedicated quiet time with God for Lent, but failed miserably. When I went through confirmation classes (as I referred to earlier this week) the Father suggested we begin a practice of some sort rather than give something up for Lent. I need double down on my effort.
Prayers for Robert, who never ceases to amaze me! Fluent in German and Spanish! Prayers for Anneliese and her pain management.
Prayers for Marcy and her continued medical care.
Prayers for Mary, may she be strengthened for all she does to help others.
Prayers for Connie, may spring come soon to her area and may her garden flourish.
Prayers for Andrea and Lowell, may they grow more understanding during her absence.
Prayers for Jill and her family, may Gloria be free of pain and may they all be filled with the Lord’s peace and reassurance.

Thanks Julie so much for all your prayers!

May you have a dedicated quiet time with God everyday and continually seek His guidance.

May God watch over Jill and her family. May they experience more of God’s love and power in their lives.

May God meet all Marcy’s needs and bless her with good health.

The renovation work that God is doing at this stage of my life is to trust in Him completely. I am exercising regularly to keep fit so that I will age well and slowing down, less stress, and coping well.

      Blessings to all!

With the start of lent I am beginning new works by giving up several things and taking on several others. As I drove to early morning prayer service on Saturday morning at 6am (something that I have taken on) I noticed a facially disfigured person walking. It is easy to become consumed by my own selfish neediness and I need to be reminded of the challenges so many face. I hope that God is working in me to be of service to someone else instead of focusing on my own problems. I reached out to several people I know who are struggling and sent them messages of encouragement and offers of help. My goal is to be more like Jesus and reach out daily to others around me if only to offer a word of encouragement – and to focus less on myself.
    More of you Lord
    Less of me…
    Amen.

Prayers for this community of faith – for those who post frequently and those who do not. God’s peace to all this day.

Trying to stay on track with my daily Lenten worship, Reflections, and continuing to help Anneliese and Erich. While I kept to what i understood as the agreement, I poorly announced, prepared Anneliese for the change.

Thankful that the septic system problem seems to be fixed, the pump has been adjusted and the line cleaned out. So far so good. Was able to Face Time with my daughter, granddaughters, and son-in-law yesterday on my daughter’s birthday.

Thankful for the comments and prayers from Lou, Julie, Mary, and Roger.
Losing your wife is one of the toughest events we face. My prayers for you, Roger. My German and Spanish is far from fluent, Julie, but I try. Yes, prayers for all who post, their friends and family, and for all who do not post but come to this site. All are blessed as a result. By the grace of God we press on through this life trying to be faithful followers of Jesus. Thank You, Lord for making all of this possible.
