New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

GRACE was the basis for Jesus’ breaking bread with the disreputable of his time, the very sort of ones we point out to our children and say: that’s what could happen to you if you make bad choices or hang around in the wrong company. Ironically such grace that calls Levi and practices table fellowship with those other characters is the same grace that aims to include the offended righteous. Self-avowed states of righteousness can close us off from recognizing the need for grace in our lives. Jesus was not disinterested in good and righteous folk. Rather, his overarching concern was—and is—to reach those in need of grace.

I struggle for an answer to today’s question. Have to think, reflect, remember.

Thankful to be pre-qualified for a home loan and have a realtor familiar with this loan helping to find a home. Thankful too for medication to help heal a rash and for the first dose of the new shingles vaccine. There’s a price quote
coming on model train items I’m parting with. Had a good walk in the sunshine. Yesterday was quite a day. Thank You, Lord.

Prayers for Gloria, Larry, Becky, and Jill asking for God’s comfort. Hoping Marcy is making great improvements with her health and well being, thankful Mary is there to help. Pray for Julie, her hands and foot, sense of wellbeing, resolution to her home situation, and a job for Megan. Continued success to Mary teaching her students and hope there are new students when current students move on in their education. Thankful for the care she gives her parents. God’s wisdom and guidance to Lou and her daughter as decisions on which college to attend are made. Thankful Andrea and Lowell are home, hope there is sound healing of their feet. Blessings to Betsy, Grace, Kelsey, and Harrison. Healing for Rusty that he can continue to go to work. Prayers for those in the flooded Midwest and those affected by the cyclone in southern East Africa. Lord guide the US government in making decisions, working across the aisle, and doing what is right for everyone. Sharp division needs healing, resolution in the UMC too. Thank You, Lord.

Prayers for Erich as we move forward to a new home, for Anneliese and Doris and their health, careful surgery for a pastor in WV, and healing from surgery for the friend of a friend. Thank you all for your prayers and posts. They are helpful and sustaining.

I have experienced unexpected grace through the new friends my husband and I have met in our new town after our move. We are so blessed to live in a welcoming community, even if it is not our original hometown.

I’m going on my second week as “chief babysitter” with Harrison. I go back to my daughters house each night tired, but I wouldn’t exchange it for anything! It has given me much time for quiet reflection (naps) and busyness (playtime). God is good. I head back home this Friday.

Robert, glad to hear about your pre-approval on the home loan; I continue prayers for Jill and her family as they continue to comfort one another and her parents. Blessings for healing fo Marcy, Julie and Andrea. Our God is a Great Physician. Mary, for your teaching and those students that you reach each day. Lou, discernment as your daughter chooses between colleges.

The sun is out here and it promises to be a clear day. Thank you, Lord, for the changing seasons.

I experienced God’s amazing Grace yesterday. I was early for tuition and was not drenched in the rain. When I finished tuition, I was going to visit my mum in the hospital, the rain stopped.

Thank you all for your prayers. My mum should be discharged soon.

    Blessings to all!

Glad to hear Robert has many good news, getting home loan, a price quote for his model train and a good walk in the sunshine.

Also glad to hear that Betsy is enjoying her dear grandson, Harrison.

Prayers of thankfulness that Robert has a preapproved loan and a realtor. May God guide him to his new home where God plans to prosper both Robert and Erich. May Anneliese receive pain relief from new meds and may Doris and WV pastor and friend’s friend be well.
Prayers for Betsy as she rejoices in the luxury of quality time with Harrison.
Prayers for Andrea, may her leg heal quickly and well and may she and Lowell renew their close relationship free of harsh words.
Prayers for Mary, Lord please give her strength to meet all of her obligations and may her mum’s health and appetitie imppprove.

PS. Dear friends have here have helped me see how untrue h’s words are. Thank you God for those who truly see us, not with eyes clouded by their own inner pain but with vision clear of personal bias.
