New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

MANY OF US are well-versed in offering a confession of sin. But Jesus’ question (Mark 10:36 & 51) is not aimed at the sins of Bartimaeus or our own. “What do you want me to do for you?” beckons in a different direction. The question calls us to identify what would make us whole by naming the need that separates us from God and from others. In that call, it prepares us to follow like Bartimaeus in response to a grace that saves and makes us whole.

Today’s Scripture

Then Jesus said to him, “What do you want me to do for you?” The blind man said to him, “My teacher, let me see again.” Jesus said to him, “Go; your faith has made you well.” Immediately he regained his sight and followed him on the way.
—Mark 10:51-52, NRSV

Guide me Lord on the way I should go.

Have a couple places we want to see beyond what is shown on the internet.
Hopefully next week we’ll see them.

New meds on the way after a recall of ones I’m taking. My rash is being treated. Thank You, Lord.

Hope the “Check Engine” light isn’t a serious problem. Will have it looked at today.

Prayers for God’s peace and comfort to Gloria, Larry, Becky, and Jill. Healing and well-being to Marcy, Julie, and Rusty. Encouragement, a positive attitude to Lou and her daughter, and blessings to all the UR family. God is with you.
    Thank You, Lord

Thankful for the news from yesterdays reflection. Betsy is having a grand time with Harrison. Mary’s Mum should be home from the hospital soon. Yes, Julie beauty shows in many different ways, thankful that you joined us, your posts are most welcome and beautiful. Amen to your prayers that are so attentive.

Yesterday’s question asked about receiving God’s grace. That God accepts and loves me as I am is an example.

Had a surprise face time call from my granddaughter, Willa, this morning.
Was able to speak to her and her sister, Oona. It was a special way to start the day.

I want God to show me the way- to lead me to what I am to do next in my life. With my third child leaving for college in the fall I will have more time in my hands and I pray that God will lead me in the way that He wants me to go. I’ve started and pursued various volunteer opportunities looking for a way to spend my time well for others – three of these opportunities that I tried did not pan out for various reasons – mainly I think I felt that there was enough support and my role was not necessary to the organization- I want to be of service and I pray that God will lead me. I also pray that He leads me to know how to continue to live life without my kids in place- the empty nest will be very empty. I pray that God will help me know what to do next.
Am currently enjoying the last day of vacation with my youngest.i think this will is the last of many wonderful spring breaks with my family- on vacation this week I have been filled with the memories of fun filled family vacations that we have been blessed to take together. Many many memories of good family time. I am thankful for those memories and I am thankful for my children.
Thankful also for the prayers offered here and for all of you and your individual concerns raised up.
    Blessings to all this day.
Robert – prayers today for your home search, your engine light, and relief from the rash, and guidance to you also. God is with you-we need Him everyday- always.
Thankful for a good start to your day with your grandchildren.

I ask God to give me more patience. My injury in Norway, resulting in Lowell’s trip to Norway to help me get home, has brought us closer together. Thank you, gracious loving God. God truly works in mysterious ways. Now we are recovering from jet lag and I have started continuous passive motion knee-bending with a machine that was delivered to our house yesterday.

Thank you again for all of your prayers. Julie, Robert, Lou, Connie, Betsy, Jill, Mary, Marcy, April, I pray for you and your loved ones. Thank you, UR staff, for this treasured online gathering place.

    • Mary Ng Shwu Ling Posted March 27, 2019 8:26 am

Praise God for your speedy recovery, Andrea and also the restoration of your relationship with Lowell is closer. God is amazing!

Thank you Julie for the beauty of your prayers and I’m sure it takes some one with a beautiful heart to pray like this.
Thank you for Robert and Lou’s prayers and sharing too.

I would want God to bless my mum and dad with many happy and healthy days ahead.

      Blessings to all!

I, too, need God to lead me to where He wants me and needs me to serve “the least of these.” He has set me upon a path with h’s words and I need His guidance to get to my future that is full of hope. I need a special opportunity that is primarily summer only due to my hands. I also need to continue to heal from the emotional abuse of h. I know I am not ugly, I know that it is because of the ugliness within h that he says such things. When in pain an animal strikes out at even those that try to help.
Prayers for Robert, may he discern God’s path forward to his future home. How wonderful to begin the day with a surprise visit with your grandaughters. May your rash do better and oh boy do I know the uncertaiinty of check engine lights. God be with you.
Prayers for Lou and her daughter, may they have safe travel home. May God lead Lou as she helps her daughter find a college and as she finds her way in her new life as an empty nester.
Prayers for Mary, may she receive God’s strength to meet all her obligations and may her mum go home from the hospital soon.
Prayers for Connie, may her thoughts turn to gardening and gladden her heart.
Prayers for Marcy, may she be well today and may her insurance continue.
Prayers for Betsyyy as she continues to enjoy one on one time with her grandson.
Prayers for Andrea, may her leg heal quickly.
Prayers for rusty, may his health improve.
Prayers for Edy and Bill, may their health improve.
Thank you for your prayers and kind words.
Prayers and blessings and warm hugs dear UR family

I guess I would just ask Him to be beside me, guiding me, helping me to be a kinder, gentler person.
    Thankful for:
    The Promise of Springtime.
The hope that we all have in our risen Savior.
“I am Thine Oh Lord, I have heard Thy voice and it tells of love for me”

I need the Lord to take away my sadness

    • Lou Posted March 28, 2019 5:43 am

Prayers for peace and healing Cory. You are not alone – God is near.

    • Connie Posted March 28, 2019 7:55 am

We hear you, Cory. God give you some gladness to replace your sadness.

    • Mary Ng Shwu Ling Posted March 28, 2019 8:04 am

Dear Cory, welcome and may God remove your sadness and fill you with His love, joy and peace!

      Blessings!
