New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

I WANT A SPIRITUAL LIFE that is always on the move. I want my definition of what it means to be a Christian man to constantly expand. If someone asks me to say anything about what God has been up to in my life, I want to be able to talk about today.

“God,” I said, firmly keeping both hands on the wheel and vaguely anticipating some kind of a sign. “I want to know you more.”

Stagnant – that would be how I would describe my spiritual life originally. Not really life at all.
Now – unfolding, layer after layer – thank You Father. He is the transforming power, I am the willing, obedient participant.
Yes – I want to know You, Jesus my Lord. King of the Heavens, King of my soul. I trade my treasures and all my rewards – Jesus to know You, and then know You more.
School’s out for summer. Hard to believe. Looking forward to a restorative summer – healing, recalibration. Taking time to allow God to restore as well as continue to transform. I think being out in His creation will be an even more significant part of my summer. And the luxury of time in the early morning hours – returning to a steadiness, a consistency. Yes, this all sounds so appealing.
The past few days have been emotionally draining. Grateful for people willing to sit and cry with me, to listen well.
Grateful to hear of Robert’s good news. May Marcy continue to be tended to well by Mary. Father, abide with all of us, sustain us in Your grace.

Have come to a closer relationship to God, more dependent. The only one who truly knows me is God (Father-Son- and Holy Spirit). Lately my faith has been greatly challenged by a non-believer but I’m still a believer. Much of what I am able to do comes from the belief that God is always present and there for me.

Getting closer to the closing on the condo. Will talk to my real estate broker today.

Thankful for some time working with a railroad historical society member today and the opportunity to add to my collection of material on the Central Vermont Railway. Some day I hope it goes to a library or museum.

Enjoy your summer vacation Jill, this will be a very helpful time after the events of this spring. Your Dad will enjoy your presence.
Have a wonderful weekend, many of us will have communion tomorrow. That’s a very welcome gift from Jesus. God’s peace be with you.

Interesting how today’s reflection title seems to fit my activities.

Long ago I had no faith and I did not seek God. Then I joined a church and attended faithfully. I attended scripture study groups. I was acted on several committees. Then Reynaud’s caused me to hide at home and I continue to hide. I hope to start going again when the new pastor begins next month. He will need the support and friendly faces because many have expressed distress over the color of his skin. So much for Christian’s seeing into the heart not on the exterior.
Prayers for a wonderful summer vacation for Jill.
Prayers for continued progress of Robert for the move.
Prayers for relief from migraine pain for Marcy.
Prayers for restored health for Mary’s father and for strength for her.
Prayers for flowers and hummers for Connie.
Prayers and blessings and warm hugs and many thanks dear UR family

Julie, may you be healed in the name of Jesus Christ!

  • Mary Ng Shwu Ling Posted June 1, 2019 10:15 am

    Thanks Julie!

Dad is better today but still not able to eat yet. So far I have been visiting him every day and spent as much time as possible with him.

    Blessings!
