New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

A LIFE WITH GOD invites you to be honest with yourself—to admit your weaknesses and tender spots. It also asks that you allow yourself to be shaped into the likeness of Christ in order not only to better yourself but also to better the world around you.

I believe it is very difficult, in our own flesh – without the power of the Spirit, to see and claim our weaknesses. And yet, when we do, indeed Christ’s power takes over. I think of the song…”Here’s my heart Lord, speak what is true.” Such a simple prayer, such a humbling prayer. And yet – in deepest sincerity – it provides the ground for massive transformation.
Grateful for golf with my dad yesterday morning, despite the significant amount of rain our area has received. It was plenty soggy, but good to be with him doing our thing. Last night at tennis – the opposition was a mother-daughter tandem. Made me happy for them, and melancholy, at the same time. Two years ago, mom and I made plans to team up for the Fall season. But then I had my diagnosis and was off of tennis for 6 months. Then when the Spring season was ready to begin, she had her diagnosis. We never got to take to the courts together as we had planned. Kinda tugged at my heart a bit last night.

Yes, it is difficult because I have been taught since young that no one wants to know and no one cares and to survive I must be strong.
Prayers for Jill and her memories, may she remember good things also.
Prayers for Robert and Erich, may God bless them with dry weather and many hands to make light the work.
Prayers for Connie, may her health improve and may her doctors be given God’s wisdom to know what her problem is and treat her.
Prayers for Mary and her family, may she be blessed for all she does for so many.
Prayers for Marcy, may her health improve.
It is very wet here as I live near Jill, relatively speaking. We lost electricity briefly this morning. This was the second time this week. Megan is home from her trip with her father to visit his mother. I thank God she returned safely despite the storms.
Prayers, blessiings, warm hugs and thank you dear UR family

I think it is easier to talk to God about my weaknesses than to talk to people. This or a similar question was in the Reflections not too long ago. God knows me better than anyone, in God there is understanding, love, forgiveness, mercy, and grace. I can put my trust in God. As a sinner I am welcome for God reaches out to me. Thank You, Lord.

The move happens tomorrow. There has been a great lightening of the load with the last of it done just before we pack up the truck. Praying for a safe journey and all goes well. Thankful for the UR family prayers on our behalf.
May God’s peace be with you. I am hopeful to worship this Sunday in what I hope will be my new church. Thank You, Lord for the many blessings of this week.

It is not difficult for me to be aware of my weaknesses. I am grateful for God’s redeeming love.

Prayers for Jill and her dad, Mary and Molly, Robert, Erich, and Anneliese, Julie and Megan, Connie and her husband, Lou and her children, Betsy and Harrison and family, Marcy and her caregiver, April, Pam, and all who visit UR.

Please pray for my daughter, who is taking the first part of her Minnesota state licensure board exams today for her profession. Thank you.

    Wishing all a blessed day.
