New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

WHEN JESUS SAYS, “I am the way,” he is letting us know that the route that’s always reliably open is the God in whom Jesus put his faith. Our deepest identity is not to be found in all the changing ways we find to get around in this life; rather, it is in our following Jesus’ way of trusting God through all our changes. Harold reminds us that in all life’s losses, God wants to make a way for us. In trusting this is so, we may be granted “strength and help to move forward” into the Holy Mystery that lies ahead.

Searching for a new church before the move, then attending that church, and transferring my membership this Sunday I think the Spirit has guided me. Helping with a fund raiser, going to Bible study, and the possibility of an Emmaus Walk this fall were/is positives. They are small miracles. Thank You, Lord.

Some dental work is coming, glad to have found good help, hope there are resources to make it happen. Have insurance but am sure it will not cover a lot of what may be needed.

Prayers your needs are met, God knows them and both cares for and loves you.

God is leading me into an even deeper relationship with Him – and it is so much more than I could ever hope for. While the depth of discomfort was so real with mom’s ordeal, the replenishing hope I have in Him and how He will not waste suffering – it beckons me into newness each day. I am astounded – probably shouldn’t be, but I am. The radical comfort, the things I see with changed eyes and heart – it can still be quite overwhelming.
Grateful that the heat spell is over here and less humid air is here and windows are open. Dad helped me assemble a new lawn mower yesterday – and I must try it out today, as my lawn is looking pretty scraggly. Dad is coming over to help me hang some new blinds also.

In my current situation, I would not be able to move forward at all without God’s strength. It is only through His help and the strength that He gives me each day that I can continue to fight for myself, finally. His love has helped also by showing me I am worth fighting for.
Mammogram today so short missive. Please pray for clear readings.
Home yesterday from mom’s. My mother can be difficult to be with at times. She tends to be negatve and quick to catastrophic thinking. She tends is quick to complain. But I love her and have matured much over the years and tend to be less reactive. Much rolls off my back, life is short and not worth angst.
Prayers for each of the UR family, more lengthy tomorrow

“God wants to make a way for us. In trusting this is so, we may be granted “strength and help to move forward” into the Holy Mystery that lies ahead.”
    Yes.
My daughter has started working and I have been busy babysitting, lots of driving across the metro area. Thank you for your prayers, which I feel every day. Now I need to prepare for hosting house guests three times in August. The house is in disarray and I ask for your prayers to get on top of it. Housework is my weak area – how I would love to keep a perennially neat and clean house, ready for guests to drop in anytime. In a week, I turn 70.

Prayers for Jill and her father, thankful they are sharing so much time this summer. Prayers for Robert and Erich, thankful their move has gone successfully. Prayers for Julie and Megan, thankful for their good vacation time together with their mother/grandmother – prayers for her too. Prayers for Mary, thankful she finds joy in flower arranging. Prayers for Connie and her husband, thankful she enjoys her hummingbirds and flowers. Prayers for Betsy and her move, and for her grandson, thankful they will be closer and able to spend more time together. Prayers for all UR friends and for those who stop by to read the reflection and pray. May you all have a blessed day.
