New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

AGING IS A spiritual journey. To be on an intentional spiritual journey as we grow older is to be at peace with God. It means we have accepted the reality that we live our lives under the loving gaze of a mysterious God who is ever beyond us, deeply in love with us, and always with us.

From my youth with visits to Mrs. Lyon who lived around the corner behind us to today and a visit soon to Mr. Davis I have had a long and good experience visiting the elderly.

Thankful for a quick refill of the propane tank that restored hot water and the ability to cook. Found a Korean grocery store and bought needed items. Had a great crab stuffed baked haddock for supper. Received a second letter with train information beyond expectation.

Prayers for Doris after unsuccessful stage four lung cancer surgery, for Marcy ‘s health and wellbeing,, Julie’s hands and safety, pain relief for Meesook and Anneliese. Hope to hear from my daughter. She works so intensely that communication is cut off.

Peace be with you, dear UR family.

I have related here that I have elderly friends throughout my life, even as a child. I have a close friend now who lives in Arizona and I try to call her often. I need to do this soon.
Prayers for Robert and Erich, may Erich find a job and thankful Robert found a church he likes.
Prayers for Andrea’s daughter and her test.
Prayers for Betsy, may she be settling into a new home.
Prayers for Connie, may she have gazed at the full moon as I did this morning, in amazement and awe.
Prayers for Jill and Roger, may both be safe.
Prayers for Lou and her daughter as they travel to the college.
Prayers for Mary, may she spread God’s light today.
Prayers for Marcy and her well being.

My neighborhood has quite a few elderly people. When I go for my morning walk, I usually meet one or two and will stop to chat with them.

Thanks Julie for your prayers for all of us. May God bless you abundantly!

Saturday I called an older friend who lives out of state and we had a great chat. Today a younger friend texted me to see if we could watch their little girl Saturday night. It seems she has been asking where I was and when she could see me again :)) I will bake sugar cookies and she will frost them. She will take some home and I will take some to church to share. I guess I am now a part of the “older friend” group and how I love it when younger ones call and then ask when they can come over….no wonder my older friends love it when I call them. Blessings dear UR family, I hold you each in my prayers.
