New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

The Christian tradition teaches that the route to compassion begins with God. Resting in Divine Compassion, we turn to offer compassion to ourselves. Once we find healing and wholeness there, the compassionate impulse invites us out into the world as agents of God, bearers of compassion—first for those dear to us and then for those we find difficult.

—Andrew Dreitcer, Living Compassion: Loving Like Jesus (Upper Room Books, 2017)

Today’s Question

What can you do to rest in Divine Compassion today?  Share your thoughts.

Today’s Scripture

“God heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds.”
—Psalm 147:3 (CEB)

I’m very thankful for the blessings of the day, They are God’s compassion for me. The supports for the shelf are in and part of the shelf is also. Oral surgery is healing. I have funds to pay the bill s. The station model is coming along.

No recent word on Doris, Meesook has a lot of pain after successful surgery,
TomE has one week left on his restrictions after surgery.

Had trouble with l and k this morning on the keyboard. Had to copy and paste when they actually worked. Amazing how often they appear.

Prayers for the UR family. Have a great weekend. Thank You, lord. No Caps!

I ask God for this ability every day – to rest in His compassion and peace.
Prayers that Robert’s mouth continues to heal and his keyboard issues resolve.
Prayers for Jill as she begins her fall tennis league, may she have no pain.
Prayers for Mary as she spreads light and joy yto all she encounters.
Prayers for April, BJ, Betsy, and Lou.
Prayers for healing for Andrea, Connie, Erich and Marcy.
I have noticed that there are far fewer birds in my neighborhood and I thought of Connie and her hummers and flowers. May she be well.
BJ, Megan wanted me to tell you that one time Chai “donkey kicked” her computer off the table as she was working on it. He is very insistent that he be the center of her attention.
Prayers, blessings, warm hugs and thank you dear UR family members

Always – begin with God. So simple and so good. Please God be near us today- be with all of those experiencing loss – especially those suffering the effects of recent hurricanes.
Bless all who come to the UR today-
I saw two humming birds in my yard yesterday and thought of Connie too- I hope you are well Connie- prayers for you and for all.
