New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

CREATIVITY is so much more than art making. It is a tool for navigating through everyday experiences to find the sacred in each God-given moment. Those who believe they lack creativity have relegated it to remote regions of their life, burying it under the need for security, approval, and control. However, like love, which is stronger than death, creativity does not die; it simply waits to be unearthed and set free.

The first thing that can to mind was my hobby. When I was teaching it was teaching that helped me be creative. I’m no artist, but believe creativity expresses its self in many different ways. Thanks be to God who makes it all possible.

Doris is down to 90 pounds, and not doing well. She does not accept help from others. Anneliese has some heart issues and will contact the doctor tomorrow.

Made the most of yesterday’s trip. The scenery was great, had a good gondola ride, and the glacial caves were interesting. Didn’t stay as long as expected, there were a lot of people. It took a while to get home. Lots of leaf peepers.

A strong frost on the windshield this morning.

All of you are in my prayers. Blest be the tie that binds. Thank You. Lord.

Poetry and quilting are the areas in which I strive to be creative – mostly poetry lately. I strive to be authentic and to create something that is uplifting.

Today I am grateful for the time I spent yesterday with my grandson. It had been a month since I last saw him. I am thankful too for walks in the beautiful fall color here in Minnesota.

With prayers fordear UR friends in my heart and for those for whom you pray. Wishing all a blessed day.

My creativity is as the author describes so well, buried under so much social judgement. I used to crochet, including several outfits and blankets for Megan when she was a baby. I can no longer do this because of my Reynaud’s. As a child I was much more creative.
Prayers for Robert and Erich, may they regain their closeness. I understand the delicate line a parent walks with an adult child who lives at home. It must be especailly difficult on Erich as a male. Social pressures again.
Prayers for April, BJ, and Betsy.
Prayers for Lou and unexpected direction changes. This was yesterday’s UR Devotional, by a woman who echoed your circumstances and words exactly. She had a long term marriage that ended, much to her surprise and consternation. It also described how she came out of it stronger and more whole. May you find the same end, Lou.
Prayers for Jill and Larry, may both continue to heal and grow.
Prayers for healing for Andrea, Connie and Marcy.
Prayers that Mary’s students did well on their exams.
Yesterday Megan and I spent a day shopping until we dropped, really. We went many places and bought many things because we had not had the time to do these tings in a long time and needed so much.
Prayers, blessings, warm hugs and thank you UR group

Julie, glad to hear that you enjoyed shopping with Megan.

    Thank you for your prayers!

Exploring different hobbies helps me unearth my God-given creativity.

Thank you God for the joy of discovering the gifts you have blessed me.

May I use these gifts to serve and glorify you.

    Blessings!
