God’s Protection

Today’s Reflection

PEOPLE OF FAITH know where to turn for safety; they find repose in the arms of God’s protection. The mystery of suffering and affliction may not resolve into simple explanations and ease in life, but in the promise of God’s loving care, we feel secure. … Underneath all that perplexes us in life are God’s everlasting arms.

—Paul Wesley Chilcote, A Life-Shaping Prayer: 52 Meditations in the Wesleyan Spirit (Upper Room Books, 2008)

Previous experiences of resting in His arms calls me back to them…sooner each time. The peace He surrounds me with – this beckons me. The calm He brings to my mind – most easily attainable in His arms. Thank You, Father.
A quiet day to myself yesterday. Went to dad’s place and tried to disinfect it as best I could. Then went to a holiday craft fair mom and I usually frequent. It was somewhat sobering. I went through it pretty quickly without purchasing anything. Something felt different, from the other craft festivals from the summer. Maybe because this one was indoors and we are inching closer to the holidays. Raked my backyard and did some leisurely reading – not something I usually do during the school year. But a book I had requested from the library, back in the summer, finally became available – so I am making time to read it.
Spirit of the Living God – be present amongst us.

When is there a time when God is not needed? For me God is always needed.
Lord, thank you for your ever presence.

FT with my daughter and granddaughters yesterday, good meals and worship,
learned more about laying track and roadbed, spent time with Pearl. Don’t mention her much, but she gets a lot of attention.

Praying for all cats, pets, in the UR family and beyond. They are such treasures and help us on our way. Thank You, Lord.
