New every morning is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all your creation, and to devote each day to your Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Today’s Reflection

MY GOD, EVERY FIBER of my being vibrates at the touch of your grace —whereby I am given the privilege of being your child. My joy at your overwhelming gestures of love and the high privilege you extend to me of entering into your life invades my being with an acute sense of your ever-nearness. In response to this, my Lord, I offer praises to you.

Yet, my Lord, I am often cold toward you. I forget to love you for long periods of time —and this to my own harm and regret. Forgive me, Lord! Ever-loving God, set my life aflame with love for you only. O my God, I long to reflect your image throughout the world so that others might observe your doing in me and themselves be convinced that you love them also.

Lord, I pray that I am not cold toward You, but am close to You in my mind, heart, and soul. Of course my love is not perfect, only You are able to love perfectly. “O my God, I long to reflect your image throughout the world so that others might observe your doing in me and themselves be convinced that you love them also.”

Thankful that efforts to resolve the situation Erich faces are back in motion.
Thankful for UR family prayers. Resolving this situation is a huge task for him, it can be done, but there is a ways to go. I pray that he knows I am with him. Finding a job that works for him and helps with the remedy needed is vital.

Thankful for helpful counseling yesterday, a wonderful meal Erich made, the right cat food for Pearl arrived, trains run on the layout, and walks are still a part of my day.

Prayers for Julie’s future, Marcy’s healing, Gloria’s peace, Jill and Mary in the classroom, Andrea with her daughter in a class, Lou, her work, home, children, and mother. What a blessing that every day, every new day, we are able to communicate with God through the power of Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

Prayers for Richard White, Bob Jones, Joan Duffy, and Clayton. All have medical issues either heart or cancer related and either in the process of diagnosis, treatment, healing, or passing. Lord, You can handle all of these phases. Thank You, Lord.

Praise God for helping Erich resolve the situation at work. May God’s presence go before him to make his path smooth and grant him success.

      Blessings

Thank you, Robert. Prayers for Erich to overcome the challenge he is facing.

A beautiful prayer…love the phrase an acute sense of Your ever-nearness. I desire that my sense be even more acute, and it will serve as a strong impetus in all I do.
Camp was washed out yesterday. Today is our final day. Quite overcast, but no rain. Tomorrow dad and I will golf.
Prayers for Denise and Jim in this time of loss. May they feel the comfort of our Heavenly Father, as well as friends and family. Prayers for Erich and his job situation. Prayers for Julie and her daughter in this unstable time.

Jill, may you enjoy your golf session with your dad tomorrow!

Very touching prayer this morning. I can agree that often I can feel distant from God. The busyness of my day and to do list often cloud my thoughts. Lately, I’ve been using “breath prayers” to help in my connection with Him during my morning devotion time. “Lord Jesus Christ, son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner” is one I often use. The book on prayer that Jill mentioned is helping greatly.

Robert, praying that issues with Erich are resolved in a positive way. Glad to know that a new teacher is now available to help take the pressure off of you, Mary. Prayers also for Jill, Marcy, Julie, Andraay, and all our UR friends who spend time here in solitude and peace.

      Thank you so much Betsy!

Thank you, Betsy. Prayers for you, your husband, sister, and brother.

  • Julie Posted June 28, 2018 7:54 am

I do not feel God’s nearness. I call out to Him and pray earnestly and I feel that my circumstances continue to worsen. I have tried to contact my lawyer since Monday morning and have not heard back still. Please pray that she returns my calls today. Is this normal?
I pray for you, Mary, every night as you are beginning your day when we are ending ours. Good news of a new teacher joining you.
Pryers continue for Robert and Erich. Prayers for Erich to persevere.
Prayers for Gloria, Jill, Larry, and Becky. May their stress and sorrow be reduced as they trust in You.
Prayers for all who come here and those who are absent.
Thank you for all who are praying for me

    • Andrea Posted June 28, 2018 8:00 pm

Julie, I pray for you and the difficult time you are going through, I pray that God will give you trust and I hope and I pray you will find yourself in more peaceful circumstances down the road. I pray too for your husband, and that through God’s transformation, a loving marriage will be restored to both of you, if it be God’s will. I pray for your highest good, Julie. Blessings.

I praise You, God, for the beautiful full moon last night.

I am very thankful for the YMCA and its free memberships and classes for older adults. I feel so uplifted in body, mind and spirit when I go to the Y on a regular basis, and I need to get back to that for better self- care. The YMCA has a Christian mission that is inclusive, with a wide scope of activities appropriate to differing abilities – not just physical activities but social, cultural, and service activities as well. The teachers are excellent, professional, and caring. I am so grateful for our local YMCA and for its Christian service to the community. Thank you, God.

Prayers for UR friends and your loved ones. May each feel God’s nearness and draw strength from time spent in prayer. Thank you so much for your prayers. I know there are times of darkness, when God seems to be absent; the spiritual mentors in my life emphasize that those times of darkness are rich and fertile soil out of which something new will grow.

    Blessings.
